Privacy Policy
Last updated: February 26, 2026
Quick Recorder (the “App”) is designed with user privacy as a priority. This policy explains how the App handles data.
In this policy, “external transmission” is grouped into three categories: transmission to servers managed by us as the developer, transmission to third-party services explicitly enabled by the user (such as Notion, GitHub, iCloud, Google Drive, AWS, Dify, Gemini, Groq, and Claude), and transmission to advertising or analytics partners.
Key points
- We do not send audio to our own servers: For the default recording and local transcription features, we do not receive, store, analyze, or reuse your audio data on servers managed by us.
- You choose external destinations: Data is sent to third-party services only when you enable external integrations or cloud AI features and configure the destination.
- Advertising and analytics data may be transmitted: Device identifiers and usage data may be sent to advertising or analytics partners for ads, usage analysis, and fraud prevention.
- Our implementation does not directly collect or store IDFA: However, advertising or analytics SDKs may process device identifiers according to their own specifications.
1. Data collection
The App is designed around the following privacy principles.
- On-device processing: By default, recording storage and transcription can be performed on the user’s device.
- No audio transmission to our servers: We do not receive, store, or analyze audio data for the default recording or local transcription features.
- External integrations are optional: Third-party integrations and cloud AI features transmit data only when explicitly enabled by the user.
2. Data handled by the App
The App handles the following main categories of data to provide its features.
- Audio recording data: Audio recorded by the user can be stored in encrypted local storage on the device. If external integrations are enabled, audio may be sent to destinations configured by the user.
- Transcription and summary data: Transcripts and summaries generated from audio can be stored on the device. If external integrations or cloud AI features are enabled, they may be sent to configured services.
- Usage, diagnostic, and advertising-related data: Usage data, crash information, and device identifiers such as IDFV or identifiers handled by advertising SDKs may be processed for quality improvement, diagnostics, ads, and fraud prevention.
- Contact and feedback data: Text, images, and device information voluntarily sent through contact or feedback features are handled for support and quality improvement.
3. Storage and encryption
The App uses the following measures to protect user data.
- Recordings can be stored on device using iOS standard data protection and encryption features.
- The App provides an app lock using Face ID or Passcode.
- The App provides automatic deletion based on the retention period configured by the user.
4. Third-party service integrations
The App offers optional integrations with third-party services such as Notion, GitHub, Google Drive, AWS, Dify, and iCloud.
These integrations are optional and transmit data only when explicitly enabled by the user. Data storage and processing by destination services are governed by the terms and privacy policies of those services.
The user is responsible for selecting destinations, sharing scope, access permissions, and safeguards against accidental transmission. The App sends data according to the user’s configuration.
5. External AI services
If the user configures their own API key and enables external AI services such as Gemini, Groq, or Claude, audio data or transcription and summary text may be sent to those services depending on the selected feature. These features are optional and are not used unless enabled.
6. Children’s privacy
The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
7. Changes to this policy
This policy may change without prior notice due to legal updates or service changes. Important changes will be announced in the App where appropriate.
